“Individuals (individual circuitry) have a very, very odd relationship to time. And time changes around them depending on the inner state they are in. A few seconds of pouring through you can seem like a lifetime. Incredible things can happen in a very short space of time. And likely if they are in a space of the world and there is nothing new happening the time can drag on like it murderous. Most individuals if they are in a situation where the input is not inspirational they will simply go unconscious…
I think one of the places that is perfect for individuals is nature, because nature is changing all the time. If you have no one in your life who doesn’t give a damn what your creativity is, the wild will listen to you. Nature will respond. The outsider can have a great difficulty with the other but in nature they are welcome. They can bring a beauty and inspiration, a depth of the descent and a sunshine for the return.
The extremes that one experiences emotionally or existentially are contextualized when you find your place of belonging within time…
It doesn’t have to be changing in a gross obvious way, subtle changes of the poetry of the whole thing. When you were children you would have laid on the grass looking up at the clouds, watching all the different individual clouds its amazing. And that kind of relaxedness that comes from doing things like that in nature helps the opening, that’s the trick. It helps you. it may not bring out inspiration in the moment but just being open like that and in nature helps something to come through maybe later maybe in the evening, maybe in the next day. Nature will give you a natural treatment so you can describe your knowing using symbolism from nature. If you are trying to explain a transcendent experience, and you have a memory watching a bird in flight, you can describe it in that way, coming from a place of knowing and this place of knowing brings the whole story to the other person through the medium of nature.
Nature moves really slowly. Large, large time scales a glazier is moving changing the landscape over. So simply being a human being out in nature is something we know something that is naturally good for us. There is always a freshness. It can become a doorway for individual knowing. When you are really upset, you’ve got some existential dilemma within you, if you go out in nature where there aren’t any people it gives you permission to let go. It really helps, and you feel you are being heard. And very soon it can all give a kind of mythic quality to your experience. Nature can lead to visions as the inner and the outer merge. And besides nature has got a lot of tricks up its sleeve that we may not be expecting…
The power of nature is more than it seems.”
~Richard Beaumont
